Five storms which triggered the highest number of internal displacements in Southern Africa

 

DescriptionStorms are the leading displacement trigger Mozambique and Malawi between them accounted for the majority of storm displacements recorded across the sub-region in the last 15 years, with 1.5 million and 1.1 million respectively. Both countries are exposed to the south-west Indian Ocean cyclone season, which runs from mid-November to the end of April.
