Description: This graph illustrates the consistent increase in the annual number of affected local administrative areas. The number of local areas with 1–9 loss reports between 1980 and 2007 has doubled and those with 10–49 loss reports has almost quintupled. This confirms that many new local areas are now characterized by weather-related extensive risk, while the frequency of losses has also increased.
