Description: The conflict in Sudan, which began in mid-April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), continued in 2024, including in densely populated urban areas such as Al Fasher, Aj Jazirah and Sennar.74 It left a record 11.6 million people living in internal displacement as of the end of the year, 2.5 million more than in 2023, making Sudan the country with the largest number of IDPs globally for the second year in a row.
