Average Annual Displacement (AAD) and Probable Maximum Displacement

DescriptionAverage Annual Displacement (AAD) is a compact metric that represents the annualised accumulated effect of small to medium and extreme events and predicts the likely displacement associated with them on a yearly basis. Probable Maximum Displacement metric shows the likelihood of a certain scenario producing an estimated amount of displacements. PMD at 100-year return period (100-yrp) expresses the number of displacements that can be exceeded in a disastrous event occurring on average once every 100 years.
